Had a paper mache day!
Trying to make traditional Venetian carnival masks. I'm being very dedicated and trying it out using traditional techniques – no newspaper on a balloon here. Have made a plaster of paris mould and using carta lana paper (50% paper and 50% wool) and a paste to make my mask. I've cut it's eyes out (don't I feel mean) and given it a gesso undercoat. Looking ok so far...
Now just waiting for it to dry so I can get on with the fun part of painting it!
I'll post some photos up when it's done! ....It's looking at me!
